What To Know About Blaise
It all started in New Jersey. Blaise was born on September 2, 1999, in Freehold, the same town where Bruce Springsteen grew up (a fact he loves to bring up often). He spent most of his childhood attending Catholic grade school, middle school, and high school, where he learned one thing about himself: he loved comedy. So, when it came time for him to go to college, he decided to pursue it as a career, a decision his parents would later call "unrealistic" and "stress-inducing." Hundreds of thousands of dollars later, and Blaise is now a "working" comedian in New York City who performs regularly at Brooklyn Comedy Collective and Upright Citizens Brigade. 2003 - 2013
St. Joseph's Elementary School
This is the name of the school in Toms River, New Jersey, that Blaise went to from kindergarten through eighth grade. Like your typical Catholic school, Blaise looks back on this education as really counterintuitive to developing into a healthy adult. Why does he know all the Beatitudes but not how to tell a woman he has feelings for them?
2013 - 2017
Monsignor Donovan High School
This high school is attached to the same elementary school that Blaise went to, which basically means it's the same school. What's important to note here is that after Blaise's freshman year, the school changed its name to "Donovan Catholic High School." Blaise nevertheless chooses to deadname the school, given that several teachers there were openly transphobic.
2018 - 2019
University of Pittsburgh
When Blaise graduated high school, he did not yet feel confident in pursuing film or TV writing as a career, so he enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh for "English," but still declared "Film/TV Production" as his major. Though Blaise has nothing but glowing things to say about the city of Pittsburgh, his hunger to write comedy wasn't satisfied by the school's meager screenwriting classes.
2019
New York University
Blaise transferred to New York University in the fall of 2019, making friends with fellow students in the Dramatic Writing program and finding mentors such as Charlie Rubin and James Felder. The world was Blaise's oyster, and nothing could stop his ambition to write comedy now! He was in New York City! What could possibly go wrong?
March 2020
Yikes.
2022
Blaise graduates from NYU with a Bachelor's Degree in Dramatic Writing and a minor in Comedy. His commencement speech at Yankee Stadium was given by Taylor Swift, which is pretty cool. However, his comedy education would not end here...
2024
The Second City
After a few years doing freelance writing and entry-level social media work (as well as a failed attempt to move to Los Angeles), Blaise begins taking classes at The Second City in Brooklyn, New York. Through workshops in Sketch, Improv, Stand-Up, and Late Night Writing, Blaise's comedy skills are honed. That is, until The Second City arbitrarily decided to deny him entry into the Sketch Writing 5 class, forcing him to look elsewhere for an opportunity to keep doing the thing he loves...
2025 - 2026
Nickelodeon
Blaise starts working as a Social Strategy & Publishing Coordinator at Nickelodeon as his day job. He would like to say that it was a great experience, completely undeterred by corporate mergers and an egomaniacal nepo baby with a lot of money but little know-how in running a company. He would really like to say that. Alas, Blaise's work contract ended in February 2026, conveniently on the same day Paramount-Skydance announced they were buying Warner Bros. Now THAT'S comedy!
2025 - 2026
Brooklyn Comedy Collective
Under the encouragement of friends, Blaise takes Sketch 201 at the BCC, taught by Nick Mestad. There, he's not only introduced to the incredible community and comedy philosophies of the Brooklyn Comedy Collective, but he also meets an eclectic group of New Yorkers who would go on to become his very first sketch group, Golfers. He continues to take classes at BCC in Improv, eventually starting his own recurring show called Cast Party.
2026
Upright Citizen's Brigade
In 2026, Blaise began taking classes at New York's UCB Training Center on 14th Street, namely Character 101 and 201 taught by Michelle Chan Bennett. He became the best in his class at writing really sad characters suffering from a lot of social anxiety.
